Rachel Hill has had a lifelong interest in nature,
health and wellness, and healing the body
naturally. Rachel studied biology at the
University of Tulsa to get a solid foundation in
the anatomy and physiology of the human
being. In 1993 she went on to study nursing at
MidAmerica Nazarene University, to fulfill her
needs to help and care for others. In 1998
Rachel accepted a position as a Nurse Clinician at
Truman Medical Center in the Comprehensive
Sickle Cell Clinic, where she discovered various
complimentary forms of healing touch. Rachel
began exploring Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese
acupressure), Reiki (Japanese energy work),
Hypnotherapy, Healing touch, Emotional Freedom
technique (meridian tapping), and many more
modalities. These modalities were explored to
attempt to find alternatives that the patients
could use to help alleviate their pain and
suffering. She completed her graduate studies
from Research College of Nursing in December
2005, proving that acupressure does benefit the
patient with sickle cell disease.
Hectic work schedules and nursing shortages
became the breeding grounds for a stressed and
neglected self. She began to notice that her
colleagues (other nurses) were taking little to no
care of themselves either. She began
Metamorphosis, a holistic nursing practice, about
five years ago so that she could learn ways to
live holistically, while teaching other health care
professionals to do the same. In addition to
teaching holistic classes, Rachel began studying
herbology from Prairie Wise Herbal School.
Rachel began to develop products that benefited
her clients and her family. Her son skin
challenges that required frequent attention. In
all the studies of herbology, Rachel saw the
benefits of the herb knowledge not only for
herself, but her clients friends, and family.
Continuing her work in holistic therapy and
hospice (four years), Rachel had an awakening
that it was time to be about her “Father’s
business” and follow her higher calling. She
began to look at different ways to expand on
what she was already doing with each holistic
client she experienced. She decided to fine tune
her, already existent, coaching approach to the
holistic services she was providing, in the effort
to motivate and appropriately support her clients
in taking responsibility for their health and
wellness. This journey has taken many twist and
turns, but it has been a beautiful opportunity to
grow, learn, and create some permanent
understandings for herself.
